Ponagar Tower, Nha Trang

Ponagar Tower is located on Lao Hill, vinh Phuoc Ward Nha Trang City

Khanh hoa Province This is the complex of the unique architcctural and arts

works of the ancient Campa Kingdom bilt since 8th century to 13th century

This is the religion center to worship  Ponagar the Mother of Cham people From

17th Century to now the works have been protected by Vietnamese community

to worship the holy Mother Thien Y A Na

The main meterial to build these architectural work is baked bricks therefore

no moss existed The majority is bricks with red cover and black core and bricks

are conneccted without exposing adhsive material This has been explaine by the

sciientists in many ways however the brick baking technique and tha

construction arts of Cham towers are still secrets

The complex of ponagar relic is distributed in three layouts Gate tower Mandapa

architecture, tower temple (4towers)

Main tower is to worship  ponagar Siva the of Cham Nation According to the

legend of Vietnamese pipole the tower is to worship the Holy mother Thien

Culture- information (now known as ministry of culture Sport and Tourism)as

a national relic in 1979

The fastival at ponagar Tower is held from 20th to 23th of Lunar March every

year which is recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage in 2012

ponagar tower was the place  for exchange and integrationoftow cultures

of Viet- Cham in the history and now still the symbol of the nation solidarity

which makes the cotribution to thecultural diversity of the ethnic groups in

vietnam
